MIGHTY MITCH & JUNGLE JOE'S JIG FLIES

A LITTLE HISTORY....

Mitch & Joe Kostecki are from N.W. Ontario, living in Terrace Bay.  Mitch is 13 years old and has been helping his dad for over 3 years now.  What started as a hobby of tying jigs, is expanding to a part time business.  Mitch follows in his dad's footsteps as an avid outdoors person who loves to fish with dad and grandpa - mostly for speckled trout.

Our jigs are all hand made - right from the lead poured jig heads to the final touches using the highest quality materials.  We use gold, stainless steel or red hooks with a wider gap.  Bronze hooks are not used because they will rust in the neck bonnet and break off.

The painting of the jigs is done in three steps:  primer first, epoxy paint coating mix second and the final step is a clear coat epoxy finish.  The body is made from a mixture of hair, feathers, crystal flash, flashabou and peacock herl.

We make jigs for many different species of fish by selecting different sizes and colours for each.  The weight of the jig depends on the type of fish you are fishing for.  Weights come in the following sizes:  1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 oz.  1/8 oz can be specially ordered, but it only comes in the egg head jig style.  The other shapes are anvil or erie head and the bullet head.

Our jigs can be cast off shoals, reefs or shorelines.  They can be jigged vertically or can be trolled.  They are also great for river or ice fishing.

The jigs are sold separately or in "fish specific" packages.
